It was an incredibly bright day, but I finally managed to tweak the camera settings enough to keep it from shooting a glowing white flower shape with a grey-black background.
You should see what this picture would look like from a bit further away. A little lower down is a garden hose, a little to the right is a sunflower stalk bound to a stick with a bread tie to keep it upright, and a little higher up is the edge of a "table" made of plywood slabs, on which most of my balcony plants sit.
Very nice trick with the exposure settings. That's a nice thing about cameras sometimes is that, since they can't see the range a human eye can, sometimes you can make extraordinary out of the ordinary. This is a fine example of that
The color and the glow of the flower are superb. Composition could be a little stronger, though and I'm not 100% sure how to do it
There are some slightly different ways I could crop it, but otherwise I'm afraid I don't have much to work with. I only have 2 images that really came out - the flower was wilted and gone within the hour. They truly are morning glories!

I like the lizard- makes this shot different from other flower pics, especially since you don't see him right away
